Choosing a fragrance for your wedding
A wedding asks more of a fragrance than any other night: it has to last for hours, stay pleasant at a handshake’s distance, and still be there at the end when everyone else’s has faded. That is a question of concentration and base notes far more than of price.
Longevity matters more than projection
You will be close to people all night: embraces, greetings, photographs. A fragrance that fills the room in the first hour and is gone by the third is the wrong choice. Look for Extrait de Parfum or a rich Eau de Parfum built on amber, vanilla and woods, which stay close and last.
Choose for the season of the wedding
A summer wedding in Libyan heat needs a fragrance that stays fresh as it warms up. Club de Nuit Overdose, an Extrait that works in every season, is a safe choice. Decide two weeks before, not the day before
A fragrance changes over hours, and the wedding is not the day to find out how:
- Wear your choice for a full day at least once, from morning to night.
- Ask someone close how it smells after four hours, not after four minutes.
- Once you have chosen, keep the same fragrance for the whole wedding, so the photographs and the memories share it.
How to wear it on the night
Spray it on the skin after a shower and before you dress, on the chest and the neck, and let it dry before the shirt goes on. Three or four sprays of an Extrait are plenty. A small atomiser in your pocket covers a top-up late in the evening.
